Edo Kaaij
During his youth Edo Kaaij (1970) was frequently impressed by art through his grandfather, artist Cornelus Kaaij. Most of Edo's paintings are inspired by women, with thick painted abstract textures that integrate effortlessly with the figurative subject. His paintings describe the boundaries of realism where it is to the viewer to determine where it begins and ends, or at all. They show a realistic sign in an abstract whole, where the imagination of art lovers get aroused by both the design and the colors chosen.
