Henk Helmantel

  ----

In the late 60's Henk Helmantel painted in very thin layers, since the 80's somewhat looser with shadings to get more body. He usually works on masonite on which a pencil sketch is created, quite precisely. Then two layers of oil paint after which he refines his work with transitions from shadows to light. The last layer is a very transparent glaze.
